Hello gardeners, environmentalists and naturalists!
This is the site where you will find blogs about the hobby and interests I want to share with you. I have long had a passion for 3 season gardening (spring, summer and fall) in the Mid-Atlantic area of the U.S. This enjoyment grew over the years starting with flowers and now includes the use of native species and plants that benefit wildlife. Other aspects I have focused on are deer resistant species as well as eliminating invasive species from my garden plans. Providing trees, shrubs and flowering plants provide year round protection, nesting areas and food for a variety of wildlife including birds, butterflies, bumblebees and more.
I welcome you into this journey through the art of gardening which can be relaxing and exhausting, joyful and frustrating, simple and complicated. It just depends on what type of garden and level of effort you want to put into planning, creating and maintaining your garden. It’s your garden, your choice.
So let’s begin … I’m Mia and I will be your guide as we go on this journey together.
